As part of the pre-season preparations, there will be a repeat clash of the Champions League round of 16 tie between Borussia Dortmund and French top-flight outfit OSC Lille. The match will take place at Hemberg-Stadion in Iserlohn; kick-off will be at 17:00 CEST. The game will be broadcast live on Sky Sports News and BVB TV.

Monday 4 August: Departure for training campBorussia will set up camp in Austria and prepare for the new season in a six-day training camp in Saalfelden between 4 and 9 August. Two of the training sessions will be open to the general public (to the Fan Information for the training camp). There will not be any friendly fixtures in Austria.

Sunday 10 August: Season opening eventAs part of the traditional BVB season opening event, Borussia Dortmund will contest a double-header against Italian outfit Juventus. While the men's first team take on the Serie A side at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK at 17:00 CEST, the BVB women will face their counterparts from the Serie A Femmenile at Stadion Rote Erde at 13:00 CEST (tickets for the women's match available in the Online Ticket Shop). In addition, the Black & Yellow squad will be unveiled and there will be an official farewell for Mats Hummels.

Monday 18 August (20:45 CEST): Rot-Weiss Essen vs. BVBThe first round of the 2025/26 DFB-Pokal will see Borussia Dortmund make the trip to Rot-Weiss Essen. The third-tier outfit secured the Landespokal for the third year in a row and thus booked their place in the first round of the DFB-Pokal. Essen beat MSV Duisburg in the final. They previously met the BVB first team in the cup in the 2008/09 and 1982/83 seasons – also in the first round. The Black & Yellows won both matches by a 3-1 scoreline.

Saturday 23 August (18:30 CEST): FC St. Pauli vs. BVBA top match involving the Black & Yellows: the opening round of the Bundesliga will take BVB to Hamburg, where the Black & Yellows will be targeting their first three points of the new season against FC St. Pauli. Borussia won 2-0 on their last visit to Millerntorstadion at the start of March. BVB also beat the then promoted outfit on home turf, ultimately running out 2-1 victors.

Sunday 31 August (17:30 CEST): BVB vs. Union BerlinBVB will play host to Union Berlin in their first home game of the 2025/26 season. Their clash in February ended in a 6-0 home victory, while the reverse fixture last season culminated in a 2-1 triumph for the Köpenick club.. During the current pre-season, Union have played six friendly fixtures, with a record of three victories, one draw and two defeats. Prior to their opening competitive match, they still have friendlies planned against Espanol and Olympiacos.Christina Reinke
