FC Bayern downed BVB in a tough match.
Borussia Dortmund center-back experienced the greatest joy and the most painful agony during his team’s 3-2 loss to Bayern Munich in the latest edition of Der Klassiker.
Schlotterbeck had a goal, but also gave up a penalty kick that Harry Kane eventually converted. The Germany international could have also been issued a red card with a more stringent game official in place, but it was — overall — a wild swing of emotions for the center-back on the day.
“That was an all-in game for us, I think that was clear. You can’t accuse us of not doing enough. We tried everything, but unfortunately we couldn’t pull it off today. It’s about nuances and efficiency. In the end, Bayern simply scored one more goal,” Schlotterbeck said (as captured by FCBayern.com).
Borussia Dortmund was fierce and physical, but just did not have enough in the tank to prevent Bayern Munich from securing the victory. For BVB, it was a bitter ending to a very painful week.
