Minnesota United landed the latest legendary name to arrive in Major League Soccer.
James Rodriguez, of Colombia international fame, has arrived to play in the Twin Cities.
The question now is simply when he will take to the pitch for Minnesota United.
He has the chance on Saturday, when the Loons take on FC Cincinnati.
Is James Rodriguez playing today?
James Rodriguez sounds like a firm maybe to play on Saturday.
According to the Twin Cities Pioneer Press, Rodriguez completed his first full week of training with Minnesota United ahead of this game.
"Head coach Cameron Knowles said the Colombian star will be available to make his MLS debut," writes Andy Greder of the Pioneer Press. "Knowles said James’ first game for Minnesota is not inevitable this weekend and his possible role will be determined by how the game plays out and what it needs. A role off the bench seems likely."
If Rodriguez indeed isn't in the starting 11, it could create some fun suspense for the fans. Presumably, at some point, Rodriguez will get off the bench to start warming up. The buzz will build. And if he starts to get his warmup gear off and prep to come in the game, it'll add even more anticipation.
If Rodriguez checks into the game as a substitute, it'll give the fans a chance to focus specifically on him when he takes the pitch for the first time for Minnesota United.
It has the potential to be a fun day for the Loons.
