The Chicago Sky dropped to 7-19 during the 2025 WNBA season after Tuesday evening's loss to the Washington Mystics. The 103 to 86 loss marked the Sky's sixth-straight defeat, which leaves them in 12th place in the league standings and now 6.0 games out of the playoffs.

Washington's All-Star rookie duo of guard Sonia Citron and forward Kiki Iriafen led the way for the Mystics in the win. Citron recorded a career-high 28 points, and Iriafen also recorded a career-high with 22 points in addition to 10 rebounds and four assists.

Chicago's frontcourt tandem of second-year players, Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso, both performed well despite the loss on Tuesday.

Reese recorded her 11th-straight double-double, with 22 points and 13 rebounds. She also added three assists, three steals and two blocks. Cardoso chipped in 21 points and nine rebounds for the Sky in the loss.

During the postgame press conference, Reese made a strong comment about Cardoso and her performance despite Chicago losing its sixth-straight contest.

"I tell her, 'You're dominant. You're a great player. You just have to believe in yourself.' I continue to put that confidence in her," Reese said.

Cardoso is averaging a career-best 12.0 points during her second season, up from 9.8 as a rookie. She is also contributing 7.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 0.8 blocks per game in 2025 as well.

Reese is scoring 13.7 points per game for the Sky, in addition to a league-best 12.5 rebounds and 3.7 assists. She had now recorded 17 double-doubles during the 2025 season.

Chicago is back in action on Friday against the 12-13 Golden State Valkyries. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET at Wintrust Arena in Chicago.
