The CEO of Bergen County Boys and Girls Club organization, Joseph Licata, describes the club as a “second home” to children in their neighborhood.

“The Boys & Girls Club of Lodi has been in the community for over 76 years. We have to give the children a well-rounded experience,” said Licata.

Renovations for the dance and art studio started four years ago but construction had to stall because of a lack of funds.

The Lodi Boys and Girls Club were awarded the money as the WWE chose to contribute to a local club that needed renovations projects to be completed.

WWE has been a partner with the national branch of the Boys and Girls Club since 2016.

“To give something for kids to look forward to having, whether it is a new kitchen, sports center, art and dance studio, it is an opportunity for us to brighten their lives,” said National Director of Sports Experiences at Boys and Girls Clubs Latrese Coyt.

Congresswoman Nellie Pou and other local leaders spoke at the event in Lodi as children of club watched in anticipation of the WWE special guests.

The atmosphere in Lodi was electric, with even the wrestlers saying how much they enjoy being in New Jersey.

Wrestler Big E said he can’t wait to return to American Dream Mall after he’s been there in the past for WWE events.

“It’s my favorite mall. I can’t wait to go back.”

WWE will continue to make headlines in New Jersey this week with the annual Summer Slam coming to MetLife Stadium on Aug. 2 and Aug. 3
