The group includes current and former champions, rising stars, and one of the most talked-about American amateurs in the sport. Paul wrote, ‘We are serious about women’s boxing – have been since day 1…welcome to the team Sa’Rai, Shannon, Desley, Jasmine and Yesica.’

Leading the signings is Yesica Nery Plata, a former unified world champion at light flyweight who held both the WBA and WBO belts. With a 30-2 record, Plata brings elite pedigree and international credibility. In 2023, she unified titles by defeating Kim Clavel on the road in Canada, a moment shared in a clip by Tahj R, and her standout year earned her honorable mention on ESPN’s Fighter of the Year list and WBA Boxer of the Month honors in January.

Also joining the roster is Shannon Courtenay, a 9-3 veteran and former WBA bantamweight champion from the UK known for her toughness and fan-friendly style.

Jasmine Artiga adds knockout power and promise with an undefeated 13-0-1 record and six finishes. She’s pegged as a breakout American contender in the super flyweight ranks.

Australia’s Desley Robinson brings global reach to MVP’s roster. At 10-3, she’s a durable middleweight looking to take the next step under MVP’s promotional engine.

Sa’Rai Brown-El, a top-tier U.S. amateur, rounds out the group. Though she hasn’t debuted yet, she represents MVP’s commitment to developing future stars from the ground up.

By signing this diverse and skilled group, MVP Promotions is signaling its long-term commitment to elevating women’s boxing across all levels. With Netflix-sized buzz and real championship resumes in the fold, Jake Paul’s latest power play might just shape the future of the sport. And with Claressa Shields, the self-proclaimed GWOAT, now a free agent, the possibility of a blockbuster addition to MVP’s roster remains wide open.
