Bristol City have completed the signing of Rangers forward Rio Hardy.

The Robins announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

The 29-year-old Whitehaven-born forward has signed a two-year deal with Bristol City. The club have paid an undisclosed fee to Rangers to secure her services.

Hardy spent two seasons at Rangers in which she won back-to-back domestic cup doubles. The forward netted an astonishing 62 goals in her time playing for the Glasgow giants. She was the club’s top goalscorer in 2023/2024.

The player has also turned out for Blackburn Rovers, Grindavik, Apollon, Coventry United and Durham in her career to date. Hardy has scored goals wherever she has played and she will be confident that she can help contribute to a promotion push at new club Bristol City this season.

After adding Hardy to her squad, Bristol City head coach Charlotte Healy said “We are really pleased to secure Rio’s signature. She is a very exciting signing with a track record of scoring goals. Rio’s ability to score all types of goals will give us real firepower this season and we’re excited to welcome her to Bristol City.”

Hardy is Bristol City’s third signing of the summer transfer window.
