Bedford draws 250 young athletes to its summer volleyball camp

Bedford got a look at the future during its annual summer volleyball camp, which attracted about 250 young athletes as young at 3 years old.

TEMPERANCE ― Bedford’s varsity volleyball team will have a lot of rebuilding to do this season after losing a highly successful senior class to graduation.

The coaching staff got a glimpse of the future during its recent summer camp which was attended by about 250 young athletes from age 3 through the eighth grade.

“We’ve been doing it for a few years,” Bedford varsity coach Bree Russow said in explaining the popularity of the camp. “We keep it consistent in marketing and advertising.”Russow was pleased with the turnout.

“It’s great,” she said. “The feedback was very positive.”

Russow loves seeing the pre-kindergarteners learning about volleyball.

“They are really cute,” she said.
