The Aunt Pearl models that Kevin Durant has dropped over the years have been a blessing to the basketball community. My personal favorite is still the Aunt Pearl KD 4s. That low-top silhouette, the all-pink colorway, and the strap? That’s a chef’s kiss of a hoop shoe.
Lately, Nike and KD have been flooding us with colorways of the new KD 18s—and this might be one of the cleanest models he’s ever had. I’ve said it before: KD rarely misses when it comes to colorways or silhouettes. So for me to call the KD 18 one of his best? That says a lot about this newest model. Just recently, Durant hit Instagram to show off the new Aunt Pearl colorway—and the second I saw them, I was impressed. These are fire.
This might be the coldest Aunt Pearl I’ve seen so far. The rose detailing around the shoe, the soft pink laces, and that pink outline around the Nike check all come together to make this one feel like an instant classic.
The KD 18s are already one of my favorite shoes this year and seeing this colorway makes me want to put it at the number 1 spot for release of the year for hoop shoes. Previously, the Seat Pleasant KD 18s were one of my favorites of the line, but these here take the cake.
I’m hyped to see KD rock the Aunt Pearls next season with his new squad. It's still early in the year for the KD 18, so I’m looking forward to seeing what other heat he pulls out with this model.
