Despite landing on the podium at the Belgian Grand Prix over the weekend — finishing in second place, just seconds behind his McLaren teammate, Oscar Piastri — it’s safe to say that Formula 1 driver Lando Norris had some pent-up anger leaving Belgium.

At the airport, Norris was spotted by a fan (@ldv_spotting via TikTok), leaving Belgium in a private jet alongside his longtime friend and racing rival, Atlassian Williams Racing driver Alex Albon. Both rocking some comfy sweats, the 25-year-old was caught abruptly flashing a middle finger at a passing plane — causing quite a bit of chatter via social media — but everything is not what it seems...

Although the act seemed rather malicious, when fans found out who was on the receiving end of the bird, it became clear that Norris was simply messing around with his friends and fellow Formula 1 competitors.

Who were said individuals on the receiving end, though? Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.

Despite being from Monaco and Spain, respectively, Leclerc and Sainz — who were previously teammates on Scuderia Ferrari HP, with the latter switching to Atlassian Williams Racing this season — left Belgium in a private jet together. While Leclerc and Sainz's final destination is still rather unclear, it was revealed that Norris and Albon were flying to Monaco, where they both reside when they aren't away racing.

Needless to say, all four drivers were eager to enjoy some much-needed rest and relaxation before the Hungarian Grand Prix this weekend!

With Leclerc and Sainz's plane seemingly taking off before his, fans thought that Norris flashing a middle finger at them was an oh-so hilarious move.

"The middle finger I’m dyingggg," one fan wrote in the comment section of the TikTok video. Another commented, "Carlos and Charles are in the plane that just left, Lando is giving the middle finger to Carlos LMAO," while a third exclaimed, "The middle finger for Carlos and Charles! 😂😂😂 Iconic Landoooo! 😂😂😂😂😂😂."

Others had a slightly different (and much more negative) perspective on the situation: "Idiot Norris with his middle finger will never be a true word champion." Yikes!

Whether or not the action had ill intent is still up in the air, but nevertheless, will Norris manage to beat Albon, Leclerc and Sainz again at the Hungarian Grand Prix this weekend? Tune in Sunday to find out for yourself.
