Texas Longhorns football head coach Steve Sarkisian recently joined ESPN College Football with Rece Davis and discussed a variety of topics ahead of the 2025 season.

Sarkisian gave fans an insight into his daily life and rituals. One that sticks out in particular is how serious Sarkisian takes his daily walks. Many fans have seen Sarkisian's pregame ritual of walking the field, but most were unaware similar habits are taking place after each practice.

"I walk after every practice, and I come out of the gates and I go right and some days I go left and I start walking," Sarkisian said. Davis appeared surprised that Sarkisian immediately goes on a walk after practice rather than watching practice tape or joining meetings like most.

"They know for the next hour he's gone, don't schedule anything, don't call him, don't text him, that's his time," Sarkisian said. When Davis asked the Texas head coach what he thinks about on his walks, he mentioned practice, adjustments, or game plans, while other times he just wants to zone out.

Later in the interview Sarkisian expressed his ultimate goal at Texas is to get the UT Tower lit up with a '1' for a national championship. "As much as we’re doing some great things, at the end of the day you want to be the one that’s taking the picture with your team with that Tower lit up with the ‘1,’ that would be a great moment," Sarkisian said.

"Like I tell the team all the time, the difference between dreams and reality is action. We’ve got to take action every day to get us closer to that dream.”

Texas will kick off the 2025 season in Columbus against Ohio State on Aug. 30.
