The New York Liberty are off to a 17-7 start during the 2025 WNBA season. The league's defending champions have won five of their last six games and currently sit in second place in the standings.
Four-time All-Star guard Sabrina Ionescu is leading the scoring charge for the Liberty, averaging 19.3 points in addition to 5.8 assists and 4.6 rebounds per contest. Two-time MVP Breanna Stewart is second on the team in scoring with 18.3 points per game.
During Saturday's matchup with the Los Angeles Sparks, however, Stewart left the game early with an apparent right leg injury and did not return.
While the exact nature or severity of the injury has not been disclosed, Stewart was ruled out for Monday night's game against the 7-18 Dallas Wings. Stewart has started all 24 games for New York this season, so the team needed to adjust the starting lineup.
Liberty head coach Sandy Brondello, in her fourth season with the team, opted to replace Stewart with veteran Isabelle Harrison. The 6-foot-3 forward is making her first start of the 2025 season.
