The hype surrounding the Texas Longhorns is one of the most discussed topics ahead of the 2025 college football season.
It feels as if the Longhorns always have massive expectations ahead of each season, but this year feels a bit different than most. After reaching the College Football Playoff semifinal the last two seasons, the hype feels warranted.
Texas will be led by quarterback phenom Arch Manning and will boast one of the top defenses in the country. Steve Sarkisian's squad will likely be ranked as a top-three team in college football prior to the season opener against Ohio State.
While some will diminish Texas' expectations, others believe the Longhorns will live up to it and then some. According to SportsLine expert and CBS Sports analyst Jimmie Kaylor, Texas will win at least 10 games in 2025.
"Texas is set to enter the 2025 college football season with a national-championship-or-bust mentality," Kaylor began. "When I broke down Texas' 2025 schedule, I conservatively came up with 10 wins. If the Horns stay healthy, however, this could easily be an 11 or 12 win regular season team."
Kaylor noted that Manning's running ability could push Texas to the top this season, compared to the Quinn Ewers era.
His other two picks involve LSU winning at least nine games, and Alabama falling under 10 wins.
