Haliburton gets engaged.
Lexie Hull, Fever Send Congratulations to Tyrese Haliburton and His Future Wife originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton may be off the court recovering from a torn Achilles, but he’s winning big in life.
The All-NBA guard recently proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Jade Jones, in a heartfelt moment that has captured the attention of fans and fellow athletes alike. Among the first to offer congratulations were Indiana Fever standout Lexie Hull and the WNBA team’s official Instagram account.
Hull, who’s currently having a career-best season with the Fever, took to Instagram to celebrate the big news.
“YAYAYAY!!!! Congrats you two 🤍🍾🥂,” she commented under Haliburton’s post.
The Indiana Fever account added its own message, simply writing: “congratulations ❤️.”
Haliburton’s proposal took place at Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa, a venue with deep meaning for the couple. It’s where Haliburton played college basketball for Iowa State and where Jones was a cheerleader.
In a carefully planned surprise, Haliburton had the arena lights turned off and arranged large, glowing letters that read “Will You Marry Me” at center court. Rose petals were spread out in front of the message.
Despite wearing a walking boot and using a scooter to get around due to his recent injury, Haliburton still got down on one knee to propose. He posted a video and several photos on Instagram, captioning the moment: “The place where our story started, and where our next chapter begins❤️💍.”
The two have been together since 2019, supporting each other through college and into professional sports. Jones has often been seen courtside at Haliburton’s games and even traveled to Paris in 2024 to cheer him on as he represented Team USA in the Olympics.
While Haliburton shifts his focus from the NBA Finals to wedding planning during his recovery, his fellow Indiana athletes are continuing to make waves.
Indiana Fever Keeps Making Noise on Court
Hull and the Fever are in the midst of a strong WNBA season, showing promise and chemistry as they fight for a playoff spot.
Hull has become a reliable contributor on and off the court. She’s currently averaging 7.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game, while shooting 43.7% from beyond the arc.
In the Fever’s latest game, a 93-78 win against the Chicago Sky, Hull bounced back from a scoreless outing in her previous game. Coming off the bench, she contributed seven points, four rebounds, three assists and a made 3-pointer in 19 minutes of play. Her performance helped Indiana improve to 14-12 on the season.
The win also marked the Fever’s third straight victory over the Sky this season. With Caitlin Clark out due to a groin injury, veteran Kelsey Mitchell stepped up in a big way, dropping a season-high 35 points. Aliyah Boston added a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while rookie Mayala Timpson posted a season-high 14 points of her own.
As the Fever prepare for their next game against the Phoenix Mercury, Hull will look to keep the momentum going, just as Haliburton embarks on a new chapter in his personal life.
