The Texas Longhorns are working on putting together the final pieces of their 2026 recruiting class.
Texas is on pace to land another top-five recruiting class for this cycle and are getting a head start on the 2027 class. The Longhorns are a top contender for the nation's No. 1 overall recruit in 2027, five-star offensive tackle Kennedy Brown, and it appears Texas could be in the running for the top cornerback in the class as well.
Justin Wells of Inside Texas (subscription required) recently spoke with five-star cornerback Joshua Dobson on his relationship with the Longhorns. "Texas is high on my list," Dobson said.
On3 ranks Dobson the No. 1 overall cornerback and No. 1 overall player in South Carolina. Nationally, he is labeled the No. 4 prospect in the nation for the 2027 recruiting class.
Dobson mentioned the culture in Austin under head coach Steve Sarkisian as something that stand out at Texas. "Definitely the culture it feels welcoming, and I can’t wait to see a game soon. I believe late spring is when I last was there.”
In 2024, Dobson racked up 48 total tackles, 10 pass breakups, and three interceptions for Catawba Ridge High School (Fort Mill, SC). He also excels in track and field, something Sarkisian's staff heavily values.
Four-star linebacker Taven Epps is the only commit in Texas' 2027 class at this time.
