Erin Andrews Had Three Words After Deion Sanders Revealed His Personal Health Struggle originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Regardless of what emerged from Monday's massive Colorado football press conference, Fox Sports reporter Erin Andrews made sure that Deion Sanders knew he had her support.
Coach Prime Prepares for Colorado Press Conference
On Sunday night, Sanders posted a concerning video on Instagram ahead of the press conference, referencing his mental health amid ongoing battles with his physical health.
"I don't know if I'm ready mentally, emotionally," said Sanders, 57, in the video time-stamped from May 9. "Yesterday was tough because I had to make a will. It's not easy at all to think that you might not be here. But you want to make sure everybody's straight."
Andrews, 47, was one of many prominent figures in the football world to leave a comment for Coach Prime, alongside the likes of Michael Vick and Fred Taylor.
"Love u Coach," she wrote.
Though Andrews' primary assignment is on Fox's NFL coverage, the veteran reporter previously hosted Fox's "Prime Time College Football Pregame Show" and reported on college football at her previous employer, ESPN.
Deion Sanders' Health Struggles
Sanders has battled multiple health issues in recent years, including:
- Peripheral artery disease (PAD), leading to recurring blood clots
- More than 10 surgeries on his left leg, including having two toes amputated in 2021
- An unspecified condition caused him to lose 14 pounds in May
There have been conflicting messages in recent months about Sanders' current health status. He missed multiple Colorado football camps this summer to focus on an unspecified health issue.
"He’ll tell you all soon enough what he going through, what he went through," his son, Deion Sanders Jr. said afterward on a YouTube livestream.
The answers will come on Monday at his first press conference during Colorado's 2025 preseason camp. His medical team, including representatives from UC Health, is expected to attend alongside the Buffs' head coach.
On Friday, he posted "Back and Feeling Great!" on X, a stark contrast to Sunday night's video that left Andrews and college football fans desperate to know what Coach Prime would reveal on Monday.
