Former Blue Jason Cundy believes Liam Delap is still a bit “raw,” and a loan might be the best option for the striker.
Delap arrived at Chelsea from Ipswich last summer after the Blues activated his £30m release clause after Ipswich got relegated.
The England under-21 international has struggled with injury, but hasn’t had the desired impact when he has been on the pitch.
Jason Cundy thinks Liam Delap needs a loan
Delap has managed just two goals in 23 appearances in all competitions, with just one of those coming in the Premier League.
In contrast Joao Pedro has been on fire under Liam Rosenior and scored his tenth league goal of the season in the 2-2 draw against Leeds.

Delap has been criticised for his performances, and Chelsea need to see more from the 23-year-old, whilst Cundy has suggested a loan could be a good option.
“My guess would be that maybe Liam Delap goes on loan, that might be an option,” Cundy told talkSPORT.
“He feels a bit raw, he’s had one season in the Premier League. Maybe he needs to go and play every week.”
Delap could find himself leading the line for the Blues in Friday’s FA Cup tie against Hull City, and that would be the perfect time for him to put in a good performance.
Emmanuel Emegha arriving from Strasbourg in the summer
There will be more competition for Delap next season, with Emmanuel Emegha arriving from Strasbourg in the summer.
