Caitlin Clark got brutally honest.
A Caitlin Clark Comment on Sophie Cunningham's Outfit Post Is Trending originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham made a statement with her pregame outfit for Sunday’s highly anticipated rivalry matchup against the Chicago Sky. Literally.
Cunningham combined street style with glam-punk in her Sunday ensemble. She wore a red and white cropped baseball-style T-shirt, which she paired with high-waisted faux-leather shorts. The 28-year-old’s black knee-high leather boots added a touch of confidence to her outfit, as well as a bit of a rebellious vibe.
Sophie Cunningham's Fashion Statement
There’s no denying, however, that the most standout element of Cunningham’s fit was the “HOT GIRLS EAT ARBY’S” statement on her shirt, which was printed in bright red block letters.
Cunningham took to social media to flex her look shortly after Indiana’s 93-78 victory. She also decided to double down on her fashion statement with a six-word message.
“look who has the meats now,” she wrote, promoting her partnership with the highly popular fast food chain Arby’s.
Cunningham’s post drew a wide range of reactions from social media users. This included a hilarious interaction between teammates Lexie Hull and Caitlin Clark.
“SHE HAS THE MEATS,” Hull replied, which is a reference to Arby’s famous tagline, “We have the meats.”
Clark then reacted to Hull’s comment, saying, “no thanks,” which quickly trended online among the folks on Instagram.
“😂😂😂” a reaction read.
“she said what she said! 😂” said another.
“Girl, you are too much. 🤣💀🤣💀” a user declared.
“oh my, I don’t know how to respond to this, my mind exploded,” a comment read.
“y’all wild. 😭” another said.
“you’re so funny 😂” a fan wrote.
Fever Take Down Sky Without Clark
Clark, unfortunately, was unable to help her teammates on the court against the Sky. The reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year sat out for a fourth consecutive game after re-aggravating her right groin injury on July 15.
However, Cunningham (five points, two steals) and Hull (seven points, three assists) both chipped in to help the Fever secure their third victory against Chicago this season.
Up next for Indiana is a matchup against Cunningham’s former team, the Phoenix Mercury, on Wednesday. It appears that Clark will be out for that game as well, which will likely mean another start for Cunningham.
