Buddy Boeheim is joining the champions.
The former Syracuse star (and son of Hall of Fame coach Jim) has signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder, the reigning NBA champs.
According to Spotrac's Keith Smith, it's a two-way contract that has been signed for two seasons.
OKC head coach Mark Daigneault shared his thoughts on the signing on Monday night, via ESPN's Dave McMenamin:
“Part of being successful is the impact that people have on the team and part of it is not having anybody taking away [from the group] and Buddy is a guy that’s only going to be additive."

In his basketball career so far, Buddy has played 20 NBA games, all for the Detroit Pistons, and he's never really found a rhythm at the top level.
He's actually one of the best shooters on the planet, though, as SU fans can attest.
The 26-year old, 6-foot-5 Boeheim has been playing this season in the G League for the Oklahoma City Blue.

At that level, he's averaging 16.5 points per game and making 4.0 3-pointers per game.
He's a career 38% 3-point shooter at the G League level over four seasons there.
He'll be able to see pretty much as much NBA action down the stretch as the Thunder want to give him, given how deep it already is into the season. It'll be fascinating to see what OKC's plans are for Boeheim.
