Speculation over the striker’s future continues to swirl.
Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has reportedly already received an offer from MLS side Chicago Fire ahead of the summer transfer window.
It’s been previously reported that Lewandowski is on Chicago Fire’s ‘discovery list’ which means no other club in the league can sign him without paying a fee first.
Diario Sport now claim that Chicago Fire have offered Lewandowski a two-year contract and are determined to land the Poland international on a free transfer.
The report also carries quotes from Chicago Fire coach Gregg Berhalter who says: “I won’t comment on the negotiations between Lewandowski and Chicago Fire, but I can say that he is a fantastic player.
“There is no player who has scored more goals than Robert Lewandowski in the last 15 years in the top five leagues. He does it everywhere he plays. I’m a big fan of his. I’ve been following him for years and I’m sure that if you like football and you like goals, then you have to like Lewandowski.”
Hansi Flick has spoken about Lewandowski recently, saying “now is not the time” to discuss his future at the club but admitting he knows “he wants more playing time.”
