Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez is eager to sign Pedri, Barcelona’s standout star, aiming to pull off a coup reminiscent of the Luís Figo transfer in 2000.
Pedri, 23, has been a key player for Barça since his arrival in 2020. He also shines for the Spanish national team and is praised by legends such as Andrés Iniesta. The Madrid president is reportedly eyeing a transfer in the summer of 2027, after nearly wrapping up the signing of Vitinha, the Portuguese midfielder from PSG.
However, Pedri is happy at Barcelona and is under contract until 2030, with a €1 billion release clause. So far, he has scored 28 goals and provided 29 assists in 227 appearances for Barça.
