Inter captain Lautaro Martinez celebrated a historic personal milestone after the Nerazzurri’s emphatic 5-0 win over Sassuolo, but quickly turned the spotlight onto teammate Federico Dimarco.
Speaking to DAZN after the final whistle, via FCInterNews, the Argentine striker reflected on matching a legendary scoring mark in Inter’s history.
“The important thing is always to achieve collective objectives,” Lautaro said.
“For me it’s also an important milestone for my career, for what I’ve done in the past, for what I’ve suffered and for how much my parents and brothers helped me. I’m very happy, for me and for my family, for everything I’ve done since I was a child.”

Lautaro also reserved special praise for Dimarco, who delivered a man-of-the-match display.
“Yes, today he’s one of the best in his role,” he said.
“He’s decisive, he changes matches. For us that’s an advantage and we try to make the most of it. I hope he continues like this because, as I said before, the team is important but individual quality can change games, and right now he is doing that.”
Looking ahead, Lautaro admitted Inter must sharpen up in key clashes.
“We’ve dropped points in some important matches, but we’ve always produced the performance,” he added.
“We have to fix the details so results go our way. The important thing is to keep working with our heads down, to keep pushing and to give 100%. We’re in a great moment, also with the staff. We work a lot on recovery and that means a lot. We’re happy with the season we’re having.”
