Teraji (25-1) won the WBC light flyweight title in 2017 and eventually added the WBA and Ring belts to his collection. He moved in weight and took out Cristofer Rosales for the WBC flyweight title and won the WBA belt in his last fight.
"The Amazing Boy" is hungry for more gold. A win could result in him facing interim WBC champion Francisco Rodríguez Jr. or the other champions in the division. For now, he’s focusing on holding onto his titles.
"I’m very well prepared for the next bout, focusing on sparring," Teraji said to BoxingScene. "It’s been a while since I faced a boxer who mainly fights in the US… I will get better and enter the ring fully prepared."
Sandoval (26-2) is on a six-fight win streak. Ranked second in the WBC’s rankings and third in the WBA’s, the American with 18 wins via knockout looks to impress in his first visit to Japan.
Also on the card, Antonio Vargas (19-1) defends the WBA bantamweight title against former WBC flyweight champion Daigo Higa (21-3-2), who is 1-1-1 in his last three fights.
Meanwhile, Erick Rosa (8-0) defends the WBA light flyweight title against top-ranked Kyosuke Takami (9-0).
