Senegal: El Hadji Diouf considers presidency of the federation
The former captain of the Lions of Teranga, El Hadji Diouf, has reiterated his ambition to get involved in the governance of Senegalese football.
In an interview with the Ivorian channel Life TV, the two-time African Ballon d'Or winner stated that he is ready to learn from the current president of the FSF, with a view to one day possibly leading the Senegalese Football Federation. "I am here to learn from the administration, and maybe tomorrow I will have the chance to lead this federation."
The Senegalese legend emphasizes the importance of solid experience. For him, it's not about taking someone else's place.
"It's not because my name is El Hadji Diouf, and I'm one of the greatest footballers in the history of Senegalese football, that I should come and tell those who were here when I played—and who have done a great job—to step aside so I can take their place. No, that's not how things should be done," acknowledges the former Liverpool player.
