BKFC KnuckleMania 6: Andrei Arlovski earns bloody stoppage of Ben Rothwell to win heavyweight title

Andrei Arlovski can now add BKFC gold to his trophy case.

The former UFC champion faced Ben Rothwell for a heavyweight title in the main event of BKFC KnuckleMania 6 Saturday night in Philadelphia and put on a vintage performance. “The Pitbull” once again captured a heavyweight belt with a third-round TKO win to cap off an absolutely dominant outing. Arlovski battered Rothwell to the point where the doctor stepped in to stop it after a nasty cut was opened on Rothwell’s head.

From the opening bell, Arlovski delivered on his word on being the quicker fighter, landing his jab at will. Anytime Rothwell got close, he got hit by Arlovski. At one point, Arlovski hit Rothwell with a big right hand that sent Rothwell staggering across the ring to win a clear round.

The impressive performance continued into the second, where it was all Arlovski, who almost got a knockdown at the end of the second, but the ropes kept Rothwell standing. Still, Rothwell was starting to considerably wear the damage.

Arlovski continued to carve up Rothwell’s face in the third, where the fight was stopped 1:14 into the round.

In the co-main event, light heavyweight champ Lorenzo Hunt destroyed middleweight champion David Mundell in a non-title, champ vs. champ matchup, scoring a brutal knockout in the fourth round. Hunt then called for a fight with Mike Perry.
