Nikolay Veretennikov finally lived up to his billing earlier tonight (Sat., Feb. 7, 2026) at UFC Vegas 113 LIVE on Paramount+ from inside Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, as the talented striker stunned late-notice replacement, welterweight veteran Niko Price, with a punishing standing TKO (elbow and punches) in the first round.

Veretennikov originally stepped in on short notice to replace Tom Nolan against Octagon newcomer Jose Henrique Souza. Unfortunately, Souza was forced to withdraw himself and was replaced by Price just this past week. Neither man had any time at all to train specifically for one another, but the odds still favored Veretennikov due to his striking power and Price’s questionable chin.

The oddsmakers proved to be right as Veretennikov was able to find a home for a huge right hand early into the first round. Price didn’t fall down, but he was badly hurt along the cage. Veretennikov moved in for a crushing knee inside before unloading a clean elbow and a furious combination of punches. The referee quickly stepped in and stopped the fight so Price could walk off before he suffered anymore unnecessary punishment.
