Bayern Munich came off a tricky 2-2 draw with Hamburg last week and Borussia Dortmund’s win soon after means the Bavarians’ lead over Die Schwarzgelben has been slashed to just six points. Next up for the Rekordmeister is high-flying Hoffenheim who sit in third place, not far behind the Bavarians.

Team news

Here’s how we think Vincent Kompany will set the team up:

Lineup changes:

  • IN: Luis Diaz, Dayot Upamecano, Konrad Laimer, Hiroki Itō
  • OUT: Serge Gnabry, Kim Min-jae, Josip Stanišić, Alphonso Davies

Player status updates:

Three things to know about Bayern:

  • Bayern are winless in their last two league matches.
  • Bayern has conceded eight goals in all competitions since the start of the year
  • The Bavarians’ last clean sheet was the 2-0 win over Union Saint-Gilloise.

Three things to know about Hoffenheim (courtesy of Bayern’s official website):

  • Hoffenheim boast the league’s second most efficient attack with 43 goals in 20 games, behind only Bayern’s 74.
  • After scoring a brace against Union Berlin last week, Andrej Kramarić became the third most prolific non-German player in the Bundesliga with 134 goals, behind Claudio Pizarro (197) and Robert Lewandowski (312).
  • Hoffenheim has won six of their last seven matches, with their last defeat being at the hands of Dortmund in early December.

Prediction: Bayern wins 4-2 with goals from Harry Kane (x2), Michael Olise, and Serge Gnabry off the bench. Andrej Kramarić scores twice because he’s that kind of player.
