Decision made: Real Madrid set to bring back former academy star for €9 million

Real Madrid have a massive summer ahead of them, and on the transfer wishlist are a centre-back and a central midfielder.

Concurrently, however, the men in white remain extremely alert to the situations of the various former academy graduates who are playing for external clubs, with Nico Paz being one of the most closely monitored ones.

The Argentine international has enjoyed a stunning start to life in Italy and is already a mainstay for Como, but Real Madrid are keen on bringing him back and hope he is the missing piece in their midfield.

Decision finalised

As confirmed by Diario AS (h/t Madrid Zone) in a recent report and widely rumoured in past months, Real Madrid have made the final decision over Nico’s future – he will return to the Spanish capital next summer.

The plan is to have him back at the Valdebebas in the summer of 2026, and there are no internal doubts that he could transform the team’s depth in the department.

In order to sign him back, Real Madrid will shell out a fee of €9 million, something they see as a bargain for a player of his quality and potential.

So far this season, the 21-year-old has made 22 starts and 23 appearances in Serie A and has a stunning eight goals and six assists to his name.

Further, he averages 1.7 key passes per game and has created 11 big chances.

Should he arrive in Madrid, he will compete directly with the likes of Jude Bellingham and Arda Guler for a starting spot, and it will be interesting to see how the club manages his situation.

After all, the dressing room is already struggling with an internal clash of egos.
