Liam Rosenior believes Wesley Fofana is getting “stronger and stronger” and there are a lot positive signs after so many injury issues.
Fofana joined Chelsea for £70m in the summer of 2022, but has only made 56 appearances for the Blues due to injury.
The Frenchman missed the entire season under Mauricio Pochettino with an ACL injury, and has had various other issues during his time at Stamford Bridge.
Liam Rosenior on Wesley Fofana improvement
Of the 56 appearances he’s made 22 of those have come this season, and Fofana put in an impressive performance as part of a back three against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.
With Levi Colwill out through injury, Fofana and Trevoh Chalobah have been Chelsea’s first choice defensive pairing, and there are signs of a good partnership forming.

Fofana has put in a series of impressive performances this season, and Rosenior was full of praise for him after the Arsenal game, in which the former Leicester man was seen in tears.
“You can see it in his performances, he’s getting stronger and stronger,” Rosenior told Chelsea’s YouTube channel.
“A lot of positive signs in terms of the players, their fitness, their application, we just need to make sure we get a result.”
It will be interesting to see if Fofana starts against Wolves on Saturday or if he’s rested ahead of the game against Leeds on Tuesday.
Liam Rosenior provides Reece James and Pedro Neto update
Whilst Fofana impressed against Arsenal, both Reece James and Pedro Neto were left out of the squad completely.
It was reported the pair failed a late fitness test and had picked up slight knocks, but Rosenior has provided an update.

“Reece and Pedro should be absolutely fine at the weekend, which should be a big boost for us,” he added.
It will be interesting to see how many changes Rosenior makes to the team, and if he continues with the back five, or if it was very much specific to the Arsenal game.
