The portal is closed. It has to be a relief to Coach Odom and his staff knowing that this is the team they will carry into the fall.

No 2nd portal window after Spring Ball, juat development, culture building and improving.

Purdue ended the portal season with the 22nd ranked class, there was some great work done by the Boilermaker staff.

Let’s narrow it down though. Here are my five that I like the most to help Purdue, in 2026.

  1. Jerrick Gibson – Running Back – Texas – Purdue was looking for help in the backfield after losing long time starter, Devin Mockobee. Gibson is a burly back that will be productive in between thr tackles for the RPO scheme that Purdue wants to run. He was one of the highest ranked prospects coming out of high school at his position, he was the backup to two NFL RBs at Texas, now he has the opportunity to pave his way in to the NFL.
  2. Elo Modozie – EDGE – Georgia – Sure, we can pole fun that Purdue always seems to get UGA transfers. But, Elo is different. He started his career at Army, then after a productive sophomore season the Bulldogs picked him up, where he did not make a ton of noise. Now, he looks to lead the pass rush for Coach Odom.
  3. Bisi Owens – Wide Receiver – Penn – 6-4, 220 pounds, a proven commodity on the outside with over 1600 yards Receiving in 3 years at Penn, Bisi is just what the doctor ordered for Ryan Browne to get on track. He will win contested balls and has the speed to work over the third level.
  4. Curt Neal – Nose Tackle – Illinois – Chops left for the portal and ended up at Kentucky. Odom replaced him with a better player from Illinois. Neal started there and should slide right into that run stopping nose tackle role.
  5. Travis Terrell Jr – Running Back/Gadget – Jackson State – Lightning in a bottle. He can be used all over the field on offense, the backfield, at slot, but where Purdue may feel his impact the most is on special teams, he thrived as a returner at Jackson State, something the Boilers could really use.
