The Patriots are making their 12th Super Bowl appearance, the most among all teams. With a win over Seattle, they can become the first team to win seven Super Bowls and surpass San Francisco (40) for the most postseason wins by a franchise in NFL history.

The Seahawks are appearing in the pro football championship for the fourth time and can secure the team's second Super Bowl victory in franchise history. Seattle won Super Bowl XLVIII, a 43-8 demolition of Denver, following the 2013 season.

New England and Seattle are the 10th pair of teams to meet in multiple Super Bowls, previously facing off in Super Bowl XLIX in Arizona following the 2014 season, when the Patriots won, 28-24.

Here's a quick glance at Sunday's game:

LAST MEETING: Seattle defeated the Patriots, 23-20 on Sept. 15, 2024.

VEGAS LINE (courtesy Westgate): Seattle -5, O/U 45.5

BETTING TRENDS: Seattle rides into the Super Bowl on win streaks of 9-0 SU and 6-2 ATS. The Seahawks covered 14 of their 19 games from the regular season to the postseason. New England comes into the championship game on win streaks of 6-0 SU and 5-1 ATS. The Patriots have covered 14 of their 20 games this season. The Seahawks went over in eight of nine away from Seattle, while all nine of the games the Patriots played away from Foxborough went over.

SEAHAWKS KEY PLAYERS: QB Sam Darnold passed for 346 yards and three 3 touchdowns for a 127.8 rating in the NFC Championship, marking his 10th game this season with a 110-plus rating. Darnold is ranked fifth with 4,048 yards passing this season. He is now aiming for his fourth straight in the playoffs with a touchdown pass. ... RB Kenneth Walker had 111 scrimmage yards (62 rushing and 49 receiving) and a rushing TD in the NFC title game. He is now aiming for his third straight in the playoffs with 100 or scrimmage yards and a rushing TD ... WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba led the team with 10 catches for 153 yards and a TD in the NFC Championship. He led the NFL with a career-high 1,793 yards receiving, ranked fourth with 119 receptions and tied for sixth with 10 TD catches in 2025. He has 1,965 yards receiving this season, including the playoffs. ... Former Ram WR Cooper Kupp had a TD catch in the NFC Championship. He won SB LVI with the Rams and was named Super Bowl MVP. He can become the eighth WR on active rosters to win the Super Bowl with two different teams.

PROP TO WATCH: Walker 1st TD scorer (+340)

Super Bowl first-scorer props can be sketchy at times, but there's something about this one that is intriguing at this price. Walker didn't just slide into Seattle's RB1 slot; he burst through the line of scrimmage and dominated. And if the Seahawks get the ball first, I expect them to methodically move downfield and use Walker to hammer away at New England's defensive line, breaking through for the first score of the game.

PATRIOTS KEY PLAYERS: QB Drake Maye has five TDs (4 passing, 1 rushing) over his first three career playoff games. Maye led the NFL with a 113.5 rating and ranked third with a career-high 31 touchdown passes. He will be the second-youngest QB ever to start a Super Bowl and can become the youngest QB ever to start and win the SB. He can also become the first QB since Tom Brady to win each of his first four career playoff starts. ... RB Rhamondre Stevenson has 70 or more scrimmage yards in all three playoff games, and had a career-high nine scrimmage TDs this season. ... RB Treveyon Henderson ranked second among rookies with 911 yards rushing and 1,132 scrimmage yards in 2025. ... WR Stefon Diggs has 80 catches for 982 yards and five TDs in 17 career postseason games. ... WR Mack Hollins led the team with 51 yards receiving in the AFC Championship. ... TE Hunter Henry had a career-high 768 yards receiving and had seven touchdown catches this season.

PROP TO WATCH: Maye over 20.5 completions (-125)

Under Seattle's defensive pressure, I would imagine New England's play calling will include a bevy of short pass routes with dink-and-dunk throws from Maye to just about every target he can count on - which is everyone. That means he'll be hoping for short completions between 5-7 yards per attempt since he knows how difficult it will be to run on Seattle's defense. Between quick slants and down-and-out attempts at the sideline, Maye might get halfway there by mid-second quarter. If the Pats plan on beating Seattle, they'll need to do so with short passing plays.
