This is what you can some very good news.
It wasn’t so long ago that one of the best in the business, IlBianconero.com director generale Romeo Agresti, said that Juventus were “making strong progress” when it comes to contract talks with Kenan Yildiz. Just a few days later, Agresti has yet another update for us on the Yildiz extension front.
And it’s even better news.
According to Agresti on Tuesday, Juventus and Yildiz’s camp — namely his father Engin and super-agent Jorge Mendes — are close to finalizing the much-discussed contract extension that will tie the budding Turkish superstar to Juventus through 2030 and see him get a much-deserved pay raise. It will be the third season in a row that Yildiz, arguably Juve’s best player during the 2025-26 campaign, has signed a new contract, with previous deals going through 2027 and 2029, the second of which seeing him get a big bump in pay but still be on the outside of the Bianconeri’s top 10 highest-paid players.
That is about to change, with Yildiz’s camp reportedly seeking a salary increase that will put him alongside the likes of Gleison Bremer and Jonathan David when it comes to Juve’s highest-paid players once Dusan Vlahovic’s Serie A-high €12 million net salary is off the books come the summer of 2026.
Agresti added that a deal could be done — like 100% done — as early as this week, with the final details currently being discussed between the club’s management and Yildiz’s representatives.
Now with the winter transfer window a thing of the past, it is pretty clear that the Juventus front office’s top priority was to try and get the contract extension talks with Yildiz done as soon as they possibly could have. Considering it’s Tuesday and the summer transfer window officially closed on Monday, then it’s a sign that the foot is on the gas and getting Yildiz in front of a camera as he signs his new contract and poses for a few pictures with everybody he wants to be there is the main objective.
Plus, you know, you want to keep your rising star happy. And a new long-term contract with a pay raise that sees him move into a group of players that represents he is what we already know: a cornerstone of Juve’s future and one of the best players in Serie A both in terms of skill and his paycheck.
We’ve been hearing about Yildiz being signed to a new deal ever since the early days of the summer of 2025. Back then, it had the feeling of a quick process in which the other two contract extensions have come about. Of course, this one was a little different both in terms of who they were dealing with — Mendes is now in the picture more than ever when it comes to representing Yildiz — and the financial commitment that it’s obviously going to take.
But you know what? It’s now the first week of February and it looks like we’re about to hit the finish line. That means no more talk about a Yildiz contract extension taking longer than we thought. None of that. No more. Now we just wait for the official announcement and toast a glass or two to the fact that Kenan Yildiz is at Juventus.
