Keegan Bradley was not in the mix to challenge Justin Rose at the Farmers Insurance Open, but the 2025 US Ryder Cup captain still found a way to grab some attention.

It has been a slow start to the season for Bradley. He had already missed the cut at The American Express before heading into Torrey Pines.

He finished up in a tie for 43rd place. But it was something that happened during Saturday’s third round that really got people talking about him – and not in a good way.

Keegan Bradley has always been one of the more unique figures on the PGA Tour, and he’s never exactly been known for his pace of play.

So when a video surfaced over the weekend of Bradley taking more than a minute to line up a four-foot putt, it was not surprising that some fans had reached their breaking point.

The clip showed him initially clearing spike marks from his line before taking what appeared to be five AimPoint reads with his feet. That led to calls for action from the tour.

One fan published: “AimPoint is getting out of hand.”

Another added: “Get rid of this in golf. So damn annoying how slow they are.”

There were also calls for rule changes. One comment read: “Need to implement a time clock like the MLB did with the pitch clock. This is ridiculous and boring to watch.”

Another suggested: “30 sec time limit or it’s a 1 shot penalty for every 30 seconds.” And one social media user simply stated: “Pro golf is completely unwatchable now.”

Keegan Bradley receives the brunt of criticism

Many golfers now rely on AimPoint to read their putts, and although the method splits opinion, most players do not seem to let it slow them down too much.

Still, a fair number of fans are pointing fingers directly at Bradley. One viewer posted: “I’d rather just see Keegan Bradley banned. Absolute clown.”

Another wrote: “That’s hard to watch. Like Keegan, but he’s a big part of the problem.”

“Keegan is insufferable in every way,” wrote a third person.

Poa annua greens are always tough to putt on, especially late in tournaments. So you could argue this might not become a regular issue for Bradley as the season goes on.

The argument for banning AimPoint is gaining traction among certain professionals, particularly following incidents like the recent clip involving Bradley, which reinforces the need for action.
