Revealed – Inter Milan Were Trying To Sign Al-Ittihad Superstar Until The End Of January Transfer Window

Inter Milan were hellbent on signing Al-Ittihad winger Moussa Diaby in the January transfer window to replace long-term absentee Denzel Dumfries.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInter1908, the San Siro giants were trying to engineer the Frenchman’s arrival until the end.

With PSV Eindhoven unprepared to negotiate a deal for Ivan Perisic, Inter had turned their attention toward Moussa Diaby in late January.

Furthermore, Cristian Chivu had even convinced the 26-year-old to return to European football but to no avail.

Inter Milan Tried to Sign Moussa Diaby Until the End

With the player’s approval in the bag, Inter had hoped to force Al-Ittihad to sanction the deal on favorable terms.

Indeed, the Serie A pacesetters were hoping to sign the former Aston Villa star on loan with an option to buy.

However, Al-Ittihad’s stance was clear. They were only willing to let Diaby leave on loan with a mandatory purchase clause.

Therefore, negotiations never took off, even though Chivu’s men were hoping to seal the deal on deadline day.
