Billal Brahimi makes a surprising return to Europe

Billal Brahimi is back in Europe, signing with Portuguese club Estrela da Amadora on loan until the end of the season.
Stuck in a dead end at Santos, where he barely featured, the Algerian international will look to revive his career and get more playing time in Portugal, where he'll play through the end of the season.
The 25-year-old winger spent most of his career in France, donning the colors of Le Mans FC, Stade de Reims, Angers SCO, and Nice.
Moving to Brazil in September 2025, he hoped to reignite his career, following in the footsteps of Islam Slimani with a bold move rarely seen among Algerian players.
But the adventure turned sour for the Fennec (4 caps), who made just one appearance since arriving in Brazil.
Estrela da Amadora, Brahimi's new club, sits 12th in the Portuguese league with 20 points from 20 matches.
