OM on the verge of signing Souffian El Karouani
With just hours remaining before the transfer window closes in France, Souffian El Karouani could be set to leave FC Utrecht and join Olympique de Marseille in a dramatic late move.
Originally expected to depart on a free transfer next summer, the deal has accelerated following the injury to Emerson Palmieri, forcing the Marseille club to urgently seek defensive reinforcements. According to L’Équipe, a personal agreement has already been reached with the Moroccan left-back.
Utrecht could receive around €3 million, with a 15% clause on any future resale. All that's left is for El Karouani to pass his medical and finalize the paperwork before the window slams shut on February 2 at 8 p.m. With his contract nearing its expiration and his market value estimated at €12.9 million, the fee remains modest, but this deal could be sealed in the coming hours.
