Hansa Rostock striker Ryan Naderi is on his way to the United Kingdom for a medical with Rangers ahead of a potential move to the Ibrox club, according to Sky Sports journalist Ben Heckner. Rangers manager Danny Rohl wants to pip Hearts and Celtic to the Scottish Premiership title and is desperate to sign a striker before the 7pm deadline today. The Light Blues tabled around €3.6 million for the 22-year-old German striker last week and have submitted an improved bid after it was knocked back.

Rangers will be hoping Rostock accept their deal as they look to pay the highest outgoing fee for a player in the 3. Liga. Naderi had been willing to sign for the Bears this window and spend the remainder of the season with the German third-division club before moving to Ibrox in the summer. He is now on his to way to the UK and could complete his move if all goes according to plan.

Naderi has eight league goals and five assists so far in 17 games so far this term, and signing him could be huge for Rangers. They have dropped to third in the league standings following their goalless draw with Hibernian yesterday, with Celtic now ahead of them due to a superior goal difference.

League leaders Hearts are six points ahead of the Old Firm duo, and Rohl could do with quality additions to his attack before the deadline.
