Leeds United are hoping to sign FC Krasnodar attacker Eduard Spertsyan before the transfer deadline today, according to the Daily Mail. Leeds manager Daniel Farke has been trying to strengthen his attacking options at the Elland Road club all winter. Crystal Palace have pipped the Whites to Wolverhampton Wanderers Jorgen Strand Larsen and the West Yorkshire club could now move for Spertsyan having attempted to sign him last summer.
The 25-year-old Russian-born Armenia international has been involved in 40 goals since last term, and Leeds could do with such a player in the final third. He has nine goals and 13 assists so far this term after ending last season with 11 goals and seven assists. Farke knows Spertsyan from his three-month spell as manager of Krasnodar, and a reunion could be on the cards in the coming hours.
The Leeds target predominantly plays as a number 10 but can also feature on the left wing, and moving to the Premier League could appeal to him. Spertsyan has never played outside of the Russian top flight, but it appears his former boss is convinced that he has what it takes to hit the ground running in the Premier League.
