The Cincinnati Bengals were happy to announce that Joe Burrow will be going to the third Pro Bowl of his career. This time as an alternate:

This now means the Bengals will have four Pro Bowl players. Ja’Marr Chase was voted to his fifth straight Pro Bowl. Meanwhile, Tee Higgins and Joe Flacco also joined as alternates, this being both of their first Pro Bowl appearances (Flacco previously declined an invite).

This is almost certainly the first time a team has had two quarterbacks on the same team in the Pro Bowl.

The way voting works it isn’t a surprise that Burrow was this low on the list of alternates as voting ended on December 15th, which was following Burrow and the offense getting shutout by the Baltimore Ravens.

Questions have been growing about players attending the Pro Bowl this season. It started when Cleveland Browns’ quarterback Shedeur Sanders was announced as an alternate prior to both Flacco and Burrow.

Burrow had just over 1,800 passing yards, 17 touchdowns, five interceptions and completed 66 percent of his passes. Not bad for playing in eight games.

Regardless of how it happened, Higgins and Chase seem excited to have two of their quarterbacks tossing it to them in the Pro Bowl.
