Vincent Kompany was visibly frustrated by FC Bayern’s frustrating draw in Hamburg.
Bayern Munich’s hectic January ended in fitting fashion with a physical and frustrating 2-2 draw on the road against Hamburg. Bayern trailed, came back and led, then finally settled for a point. There were 28 fouls, 10 yellow cards, and 27 shots.
After dropping points in consecutive Bundesliga matches, Bayern manager Vincent Kompany voiced his frustrations but also complimented the gritty opponent.
“Football is always complicated. There are no easy games,” said Kompany (via @iMiaSanMia). “We knew it’d be a tough away game. HSV always play good crosses, the centre-back found himself in a good position and scored. It was a good game for the Bundesliga with a lot of intensity. But what do you want me to say? You saw it yourself. There were 16 minutes of additional time in total and it could’ve been 20-25.”
Bayern will enjoy a full week of rest before hosting the hottest team in the Bundesliga, Hoffenheim, who has won five in a row and has not lost in two months.
