The ex-wife of Chargers player Rashawn Slater called out Dov Kleinman after the NFL influencer suggested her ex-husband waited until their divorce was finalized before signing his new contract.

After ESPN reported that Slater and the Chargers agreed to a four-year contract extension worth $114 million on Sunday, July 27, Kleinman posted on X about it, calling it a "legendary" and "good timing" that Slater signed the contract extension after he "finalized his divorce."

In a reply to his own post, Kleinman added, "A historic deal where his ex-wife won't see a dime of it. $92 MILLION guaranteed."

A few hours later, Stassney Brown, who married Slater in 2022, called out the post. "This is deplorable. I hold nothing but support for Rashawn. His contract is not about me," she wrote on X.

"I think we should focus on what’s most important here, and that is his career and his success. Please stop including me in this narrative. He deserves his moment," Brown concluded.

The following morning, Kleinman responded to Brown. "It wasn't about you. It was about Rashawn keeping the money that he worked hard for. I didn't mention your name," he said, adding, "So you decide to draw more attention to yourself? But also claiming he deserves his moment."

One user noted that Kleinman brought Brown into the conversation when he said she "won't see a dime of" his new contract and used her image in the posts.

Another account told Kleinman, "This is some top tier gaslighting if I’ve ever seen it."

ESPN was first to report the news of Slater's four-year contract extension, which he signed on Sunday.

Slater posted a photo of himself signing his contract on Sunday to Instagram. "Blessed to accomplish a dream of mine with my family by my side," he wrote in the caption. "None of this happens without these people and so many others who have supported me along the way. Just getting started, LFG!"
