Chelsea remain committed to giving young players opportunities at Stamford Bridge.
We have already seen Reggie Walsh and Jesse Derry involved in training, while Freddy Bernal has made the Champions League squad.
Estevao Willian is another shining example. Despite being just 18, Rosenior has put his faith in him repeatedly since he arrived.
It is clear that if you are good enough, you will get your chance at Chelsea under Rosenior.
And it looks like the manager has identified yet another young talent worth keeping an eye on within the club’s ranks.
Josh Acheampong will not leave Chelsea in January
There have been questions over whether or not Josh Acheampong would be leaving Stamford Bridge this month.
Bayern Munich had shown interest and seemed keen on a move, but it now appears that the defender will stay put.
Speaking ahead of Chelsea’s upcoming fixture against West Ham, Liam Rosenior addressed the situation and made his stance clear.
“Josh Acheampong is an outstanding talent. I want him with me,” the Briton said.
It will be interesting to see how Rosenior plans to use Acheampong from this point on.
Josh Acheampong’s potential role at Chelsea
One thing working in Josh Acheampong’s favour is his flexibility, as he can play both centre-back and right-back.
With Malo Gusto and Reece James likely to hold down the right-back spot, his best chance could be filling one of the openings in the centre, where there has been some rotation.
Chelsea are still looking to bring in another centre-back. Still, this decision suggests they are confident in what they already have within the club.
This is especially true given Rosenior’s willingness to use Reece James more often as a central midfielder rather than signing someone new for that role.
