Captain of the Algeria Fennecs, Ryad Mahrez, has confirmed he will be present at the next AFCON in Morocco. The former Manchester City star has also set a date for his international retirement.
Ryad Mahrez shared his thoughts on the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, which kicks off this December in Morocco. Mahrez discussed the tournament's organizational aspects and Algeria's ambitions in an interview with the Carré YouTube channel.
"Morocco is a neighboring country, with the same conditions as us. The facilities will be excellent. The stadiums are top-notch, and so are the pitches. That will make us feel comfortable. So I hope it's going to be a great AFCON and that we go all the way." Mahrez stated.

Asked whether this AFCON could be his last appearance for Algeria, Mahrez replied: "If we qualify for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, that will be my last major tournament with Algeria."
That makes things crystal clear.
