Tonight’s game against the Dallas Stars is not the only one that Vegas Golden Knights fans will be looking forward to.
On Thursday, the NHL confirmed that the Golden Knights and Stars would meet in Arlington, Texas, at AT&T Stadium, the home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, for the 2027 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series.
The game is set to be held on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2027, at 5 p.m. PST and will be broadcast on ABC.
It will be the third time the Golden Knights will be featured in outdoor hockey action, although these games have not been particularly kind to them.
The Golden Knights have lost both of the outdoor games they have played in so far. On Feb. 20, 2021, they dropped a 3-2 contest to the Colorado Avalanche in Lake Tahoe in a game that was pushed back a day due to poor ice conditions. The Golden Knights have also competed in the 2024 Winter Classic, falling 3-0 to the Seattle Kraken at the MLB’s Seattle Mariners’ T-Mobile Park.
This will mark the second time the Stars have been featured in outdoor hockey, defeating the Nashville Predators 4-2 at the sold-out Cotton Bowl for the 2020 Winter Classic.
The game features one of the NHL’s newer rivalries between two of their best teams, with both having made the playoffs in six of the last seven years. The two have also met in the playoffs three times in that span, with the Stars taking two of the three series. However, the Golden Knights defeated the Stars en route to hoisting the Stanley Cup in 2023.
Additional information in regards to the game will be announced by the NHL at a later date.
