2025 Las Vegas Raiders part of Super Bowl history

Raiders beat eventual AFC champions in Week 1

Pete Carroll, Mike Vrabel

It was an awful 2025 season under Pete Carroll, who went one and done with the Las Vegas Raiders, of course, but there was a highlight and the franchise become part of Super Bowl history.

Yes, it was Week 1. The Raiders peaked in the first week fot eh season when they beat the New England Patriots 20-13 on the road. It was one of three wins on the season for the Raiders. The Patriots rebounded from the upset loss nicely as they went 14-3 in the regular season and will represent the AFC in the Super Bowl against the Seattle Seahawks on February 8.

In fact, according to The Associated Press, they became part of Super Bowl history. New England is the fourth team to make the Super Bowl in a season when they lost to the team that had the No. 1 overall pick in the next draft.

So, 2025 was a miserable season but, at least, the Raiders had their win over the Patriots.
