“The player only wants Chelsea” – Fabrizio Romano with key incoming transfer updates

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has been providing some key incoming Chelsea transfer updates with the player’s desire.

It’s been explained that a player only wants to join Chelsea this summer and is doing his best to push the move through on his end.

The news comes as Chelsea also look to press ahead with completing the deal to sign Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig as well this window after agreeing to sell Joao Felix to Al Nassr.

But this story we are talking about Jorrel Hato from Ajax, after fresh reports came out on this one via Sky Sports yesterday morning.

Chelsea are now pushing to try and get this deal done alongside the Simons deal.

Romano reports on X:

‘Chelsea and Ajax will be again in direct contact from start of new week for Jorrel Hato deal.

‘Hato has been clear with Ajax: he only wants Chelsea, the contract is ready… up to the clubs.

‘Talks well underway.’

So this one looks like it could heat up again this week as the two clubs look to try and get the final agreement in place on the fee.

Hato to provide competition for Cucurella

Hato is a defender who can play as a left back or as a centre back and he is likely to be coming in to provide competition for current left back Marc Cucurella.

At the moment Chelsea don’t really have a backup option for Cucurella, at least not a natural one.

Hato will also be a good option to play in the inverted full back role due to the fact he can play centrally as well and is just a very good footballer.

And then as well as this he can provide further cover in the centre back areas.
