Earlier this off-season, the St. Louis Blues signed forward Pius Suter to a two-year, $8.25 million contract. This was after the 29-year-old recorded new career highs with 25 goals, 21 assists, and 46 points in 81 games with the Vancouver Canucks during the 2024-25 season.

When looking at the Blues' current group, Suter has the potential to be a perfect fit on their roster. There is no question that St. Louis needed help at the center position, and Suter will give them with just that. This is because he not only has the potential to provide solid secondary offensive production but is also impactful because of his strong defensive play. With this, he should also be a key part of the Blues' penalty kill moving forward.
One of the Blues' biggest needs this off-season was to find an upgrade for the third-line center spot, and they have done just by signing Suter. However, due to his solid all-around play, Suter also can move up the lineup if needed. This is especially so when noting that he can also play move to the wing if needed.
Overall, every team needs a Swiss Army knife type, and Suter will now give the Blues a very good one. It will be fascinating to see how much of an impact he makes with the Blues from here.
