Mastantuono: “Arbeloa and his coaching staff gave me a lot of confidence”

Real Madrid attacker Franco Mastantuono talked to DSport and shared his thoughts on his first few months as a madridista. Mastantuono praised Arbeloa and thanked Xabi for believing in him when the club was considering his signing.

“Álvaro and his entire coaching staff gave me a lot of confidence, which I believe is key for a player. They gave me a lot of confidence, they showed it to me, and that is nice for me. I am playing more freely because of that and I am totally grateful to this coaching staff for that. Also to Xabi and his coaching staff, they trusted me to be here, but well, Álvaro is a great coach who is helping us a lot. I believe if we work this way we will reach the goals we have in mind,” he said.

The Argentinian attacker was also asked about Vinicius Junior.

“Vini is a player who has been recognized for some time and has remained among the top players in the world. Like everyone, he experiences moments that do not meet public expectations. When he does not play at a 9 or 10 level, he tends to receive criticism. It does not appear that he has gone through a particularly bad period, in my opinion. Some of his recent matches were not as strong as usual, but they were not necessarily poor performances. He has not played at the level people are accustomed to, which may explain some criticism. Over the past year, he has been considered one of the best in the world. He contributes significantly to the team, especially in supporting younger players. The goal is to ensure he remains in good form,” he added.
