Grand marshal Eileen Gu shares message ahead of SF Chinese New Year Parade

"Growing up in San Francisco, this was a huge part of my childhood and I remember going every year," the Olympic skiing gold medalist said in the video.

We have a new message to share from Olympic freestyle skiing gold medalist Eileen Gu from San Francisco, who's been named the grand marshal of San Francisco's Chinese New Year Parade.

Gu is currently training for the upcoming Olympics, and shared this with ABC7 viewers and parade goers, fresh off the slopes.

"Growing up in San Francisco, this was a huge part of my childhood and I remember going every year," Gu said. "I can't wait to light the fireworks and start the parade and being a part of the Asian community in San Francisco, and coming back to my roots is something that I'm so much looking forward to."
