The truth behind Omar Marmoush’s transfer stance
Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush has been linked with winter move but reports suggest he is likely to remain at the club.
Marmoush future sparks transfer talk
Speculation continues to grow around the future of Omar Marmoush, with reports suggesting the Manchester City attacker could be involved in transfer discussions during the January window.
Marmoush joined Manchester City last winter from Eintracht Frankfurt in deal worth around €75 million.
He made strong early impression but his role has changed this season as he has struggled to secure regular starts.
The Egyptian international has faced heavy competition in attack, with Erling Haaland leading the line and new arrivals such as Rayan Cherki & Antoine Semenyo boosting City’s forward options.
Clubs monitoring the situation
Several teams have been linked with Marmoush in recent weeks, including Fenerbahce & Aston Villa.
Reports indicate that the 26 year old would prefer to remain in the Premier League if he were to leave the Etihad Stadium.
City’s recruitment has increased uncertainty around his minutes especially after Semenyo arrived from Bournemouth and made fast start scoring three goal in his first four match.
Despite the rumours, Marmoush may not be the player who leaves this month.
Oscar Bobb close to departure instead
According to Sky Sports, Manchester City winger Oscar Bobb is now closer to exit. The report claims that Fulham are in advanced talks to sign the Norway international during the winter market.
Negotiations between the clubs are ongoing and Bobb has reportedly agreed to the idea of joining Fulham in search of more playing time.
Manager Pep Guardiola has also confirmed that Bobb wants to leave especially after City strengthened their attack and his chances of getting minutes became limited.
City balancing squad decisions
Manchester City’s January plans appear focused on adjusting their attacking depth rather than making major departures.
Marmoush’s long term future may still be discussed in the summer but current signs suggest the club could keep him for the remainder of the season.
